- Support the Operations and be trained in the blasting and excavation of natural materials.

- Assist with the operation of stemming equipment such as: backhoes, front-end loaders, skid-steer loaders, stemming trucks, and light-duty vehicles.

- Assist with blasting and excavation activities.

- Perform pre-shift inspections.

- Perform other tasks as assigned.

What You Bring To Freeport

- Three (3) months experience in an industrial environment

- Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English.

- Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standards.

- Must obtain permission to legally handle explosives per ATF standards once in position.

- Knowledge of hazards associated with all blast patterns, including securing blast areas from public access and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

- High School diploma or GED
