As a Powder Coater, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and appearance of our metal products meet or exceed our clients' expectations. Operating within our manufacturing facility, you will be responsible for executing surface finishing processes such as painting, cleaning, and powder coating on metal components.
- Surface Preparation: Prepare metal surfaces for finishing processes by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.
- Painting and Coating Application: Apply paints, coatings, and powder coatings to metal surfaces using various techniques including spray guns, brushes, and automated equipment, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects, imperfections, and adherence to quality standards. Make adjustments to equipment or processes as needed to maintain quality.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on painting, cleaning, and powder coating equipment to ensure proper functioning and minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating equipment and handling chemicals to maintain a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of surface finishing processes, including material usage, production quantities, and quality inspection results.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the manufacturing team to coordinate production schedules, prioritize tasks, and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the surface finishing process.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in surface finishing or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in surface finishing processes such as painting, cleaning, and powder coating, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating painting equipment, including spray guns and automated coating systems.
- Knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and surface preparation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Experience working with metal fabrication processes.
