Powder Coating Paint Technician

We seek a skilled and detail-oriented Powder Coating Paint Technician to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating powder coating booths, applying coatings to metal products, and maintaining high standards of finish quality. This role is critical to ensuring our products meet aesthetic and durability standards for industrial and architectural applications.

Responsibilities

- Set up and operate powder coating equipment, including guns, hoppers, and booth exhaust systems.

- Prepare surfaces for coating (cleaning, masking, pre-treatment).

- Apply powder coatings to metal components with precision and consistency.

- Monitor and adjust coating parameters to ensure optimal finish quality.

- Perform visual inspections and quality checks on finished parts.

- Maintain powder levels and clean booth equipment regularly.

- Track powder usage and report inventory needs.

- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE and respirator requirements.

- Assist with other shop tasks such as loading/unloading parts and basic machine operations.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 3 – 5 years of experience in powder coating or industrial painting.

- Familiarity with paint booth operations and coating equipment.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Knowledge of safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with automated or robotic coating systems.

- Certification in industrial painting or coating (an asset).

- Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
