You will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment involved in the atomization process of various metals, ensuring high-quality alloy powders are produced for use in diverse applications.
Operate Atomization Equipment: Manage and operate specialized alloy melt equipment, ensuring precise control of temperature, pressure, and other variables during the atomization process.
Metal Preparation: Prepare metal alloys for atomization, following established procedures for alloy composition and purity.
Monitor Process Parameters: Regularly monitor and adjust process parameters to maintain optimal conditions for metal atomization, ensuring the production of high-quality alloy powders.
Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality checks on atomized metal powders, including size distribution, chemical composition, and other relevant characteristics.
Troubleshoot Equipment: Identify and troubleshoot any issues or deviations in the atomization process, collaborating with maintenance teams for timely resolution.
Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of process parameters, production volumes, and quality control data to ensure traceability and continuous improvement. Maintain and update visual management boards daily.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on atomization equipment to ensure its optimal functionality, and report any potential issues for further attention.
Masonry: Reline furnaces and tundishes as required.
Housekeeping: Maintain housekeeping of department to be safe and tour ready at all times.
Other assignments: Task to support company success as needed.
- Proven experience as a Melt Operator or in a similar role within a metallurgical setting a plus.
- Strong understanding of metal atomization processes, including knowledge of alloy compositions and properties a plus.
- Ability to interpret and follow technical instructions, operating manuals, and safety procedures.
- Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to perform precise and accurate work, ensuring the production of high-quality metal powders.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying and resolving issues during the atomization process.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift/move heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Team Player: Effective communication and collaboration skills with team members and other departments.
- Basic Masonry awareness or experience a plus.
- A skilled and detail-oriented Metal Powder Operator specializing in metal atomization.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant education in metallurgy or a related field is a plus.
