The Entry-Level Powder Coat Technician is responsible for assisting in all stages of the powder coating process, including preparation, application, inspection, and cleanup. This team member supports production flow while also performing hands-on application of powder coating to metal parts, helping to ensure high-quality finishes that meet customer and internal standards.
- Prepare parts for powder coating by cleaning, masking, hanging, or racking them.
- Assist in the setup and operation of powder coating equipment.
- Apply powder coating to metal parts using manual or automated methods under supervision.
- Inspect parts before and after coating to ensure quality standards are met.
- Make adjustments to coating processes or alert Guides/Leads as necessary.
- Clean and maintain powder coating equipment, spray booths, and work area.
- Label and identify powder coating materials accurately.
- Support quality checks, documentation, and proper tagging of parts.
- Monitor wash bay chemical levels and condition; report any issues to the Guide or Lead.
- Ensure wastewater systems are functioning properly and within environmental compliance.
- Return tools and materials to designated areas at the end of each shift.
- Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and maintain a safe work environment.
- Assist in other production duties as directed by the Guide, Lead, or Manager.
- Show consistent attendance, punctuality, and a willingness to work overtime as needed.

- Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs safely and regularly.
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screening, physical capacity test, and breath alcohol test.
- Prior experience with powder coating or industrial painting.
- Familiarity with chemical treatment processes and inspection.
- Quality-focused mindset with the ability to follow through on assigned tasks independently.
