AltaGas is seeking a Planning & Scheduling Analyst to join our Project Controls team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Project Controls, you will play a key role in building, integrating, and maintaining project schedules across a diverse portfolio of projects and programs within the AltaGas Projects division. This role is critical in supporting effective decision‑making by analyzing schedule performance, identifying risks, and providing meaningful insights that contribute to successful project delivery.
- Develop, update, and control project plans, schedules, milestones, and reporting in alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare Level 1–3 schedules with strong emphasis on critical path analysis spanning engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Lead and participate in interactive planning sessions; collaborate with project managers, estimators, and engineers to refine preliminary schedules.
- Create and compile schedules for the midstream sustaining capital program, following the project development methodology and stage-gate processes.
- Maintain integrated schedules covering labor, materials, equipment, and services from project development through closeout.
- Provide project controls support including planning, schedule management, trend analysis, change order impact evaluation, and schedule forecasting.
- Support project managers with weekly and monthly schedule updates and reporting.
- Work with external vendors to obtain accurate, timely construction schedule updates.
- Establish productivity benchmarks to support estimating and planning.
- Contribute to the development of a resource-loaded 5‑year capital plan.- 7+ years of project or program planning & scheduling experience.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Experience scheduling projects from $1M–$500M, ideally in oil & gas.
- Strong knowledge of AACE best practices and “what‑if” scenario modeling.
- Advanced Primavera P6 skills; MS Project experience is an asset.
- Solid understanding of EPCM processes, construction sequencing, and engineering deliverables.
- Familiarity with cost estimating, stage gates, and cost–schedule integration.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel within Canada as needed.
- Excellent verbal, written, and influencing skills.
