Job Summary
The Transport Planning & Scheduling Analyst supports Marathon Petroleum’s transportation operations by coordinating carrier scheduling, performance tracking, and data-driven planning activities. This role is responsible for managing transportation data, contract compliance, and carrier performance while partnering closely with operations, legal, procurement, and external carrier partners to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost‑effective transport services.
Responsibilities
- Extracts and transforms data from multiple sources to build reports, dashboards, and scorecards for audiences ranging from frontline staff to executives.
- Coordinates contracting, bidding, and vendor processes.
- Loads and maintains data in enterprise systems, serving as the single point of accountability for data integrity.
- Consults with legal, customers, and stakeholders to develop, align, and ensure compliance with contracts.
- Drives delivery process improvements by collaborating with carriers and operations to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Ensures regulatory compliance, monitor performance, and conduct audits as required.
- Analyzes market data to evaluate service value and recommend improvements.
- Manages carrier performance reviews and recognition, ensuring contract compliance through audits and scorecards.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other business-related function preferred.
- Two (2) years of related experience required.
