PCB Design Engineer

For over 40 years Travis Industries has been designing and building industry leading award winning hearth heating appliances. We are the largest privately held wood, gas, and pellet stove, insert, and fireplace company in America encompassing multiple brands; Fireplace Xtrodinair, DaVinci Custom Fireplaces, Lopi, and Tempest Torch. Our products are all built in the "House of Fire", our Mukilteo Washington facility encompassing over 11 acres of manufacturing under one roof.

We are looking for an PCB Design Engineer who will help us advance our control systems. As an PCB Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing PCBs from prototype to pro, wiring harnesses, specifying components, and integrating these systems into a production product.

Responsibilities

- Research, plan, design, prototype, test, and debug high-reliability and high-performance electronic devices that meet Travis Industries, Inc.’s high standards.

- Design schematics and layouts for production ready PCBs.

- Develop and execute test plans.

- Reviewing electrical engineering plans, specifications and reports.

- Collaborating with engineers and technicians.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience requirements

- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering preferred (open to right out of school).

- Minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Qualifications

- PCB Design using Altium or KiCad.

- Ability to take a design from prototype to production.

- Familiarity working with ATMEL and ESP32 chips.

- Working knowledge of I2C, and Serial communication.

- Working knowledge of Embedded Systems Programming using C

- Must be a self-starter willing to learn and take on new challenges.

- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally as part of an established and growing team.

Desired Qualifications

- Working knowledge of SPI and CAN Bus

- Previous experience designing line voltage control circuitry.

- Familiarity with IOT devices.

- Experience designing bed of nails style test fixtures.

- Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.

- Experience with mechanical assemblies and manufacturing technique design.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $37.00 per hour
