B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Operator V, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Open Pit, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Safe and efficient operation of mining vehicles in the transportation of materials to meet targets;

- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip walk around safety inspections of equipment and report any deficiencies to the Supervisor;

- Log maintenance or concerns while operating equipment, and discontinue use if maintenance issue impact safe working operation;

- Communicate effectively with team members via two-way radios, hand signals, and other required forms of communication;

- Participate in daily safety toolbox meetings to promote compliance to B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies and procedures;

- Operate in all types of weather, including rain, fog, and winter conditions; and

- Assist in civil earthworks and construction responsibilities when required and assigned.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- Prior experience operating heavy equipment, including light vehicles with 24’ trailers, haul trucks, wiggle wagons, or related equipment in construction or mining environment;

- Completion of Grade 10 with demonstrated capacity for numeracy, writing, reading and communication at that level;

- Valid unrestricted Class 5 driver license preferred; Heavy Equipment Operator ticket; and

- Prior experience working in a remote setting with limited access to resources.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $105,417.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $38.25 and overtime rate of $57.38) in a work year.
