- Grinding Operations: Operate hand held grinders to safely remove excess metal from inside and outside castings, ensuring precision and quality in every piece.
- Quality Verification: Verify fit accuracy by correctly using gaging tools with different thickness feeler gages to maintain high standards.
- Material Handling: Utilize hoists to manipulate castings into proper positions for fitting and gaging, ensuring safe and efficient workflow.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records by tracking part identification and correctly filling out shift pitch boards, including reasons for any missed pitches.
- Workstation Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workstation to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and operators.
- Physical Requirements: Occasionally move parts by hand weighing up to 50 pounds, demonstrating physical stamina and care.

Success in this role means consistently producing high-quality castings with minimal defects, maintaining safety standards, and contributing to a smooth and efficient production process. The role requires onsite presence with rotating shifts and occasional physical handling of materials.
- Completion of High School or GED
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
- Ability to work on your feet for 8 hours and handle physical tasks
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous experience in manufacturing or similar industrial environments
- Familiarity with hand held grinders and gaging tools
- Experience working in a rotating shift environment
- Basic understanding of safety protocols in manufacturing

Compensation: Starting rate will be $27.00/hr. for this contract position.
