Using specialized industrial equipment and chemical ingredients, Operating Technicians perform all the manufacturing, packaging, and raw material unloading associated with the manufacture of sulfuric acid catalyst pellets and intermediates. The operations team is responsible for safety and emergency leadership in the plant.
The operations team is a three-member team that rotates through all job assignments and tasks (as training and skill progression allow) to create a flexible, cross-functional work team. The team is responsible for the safe and efficient startup, shutdown, and operation of the plant as well as autonomous maintenance, housekeeping (5S), and general manufacturing plant upkeep. Operating Technicians perform routine analytical and quality acceptance testing on finished products and intermediates, and routinely assist the maintenance department with maintenance jobs and projects. Team members are also required to participate in plant quality and core value investigations, plant committees, continuous improvement activities, and other special projects and duties assigned.

- Trained and proficient in performing all tasks, per the training matrix/checklist for:
- Packout
- Level 1 Control room/field operations
- Raw materials unloading/handling
- Hazardous waste labeling and handling
- Perform autonomous maintenance and 5S/housekeeping tasks associated with job duties
- Perform all standard work in accordance with schedules and checklists
- Be vigilant and observant of plant/product conditionsact to correct or mitigate any safety, core value, quality, or facility/equipment issues that arise
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalency required.
- Associate degree, trade certifications, or other relevant professional certifications (preferred)
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial plant operations or maintenance experience or equivalent education
- PLC/HMI familiarity and Microsoft Office Suite knowledge, indicating proficiency in using industrial automation and software tools for manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to safely operate industrial manufacturing equipment and maintenance tools, showcasing technical competence in equipment operation.
- Experience with troubleshooting and problem-solving, demonstrating the ability to identify and address issues effectively in an industrial setting.
- Excellent communication skills, essential for effective collaboration and information exchange within the manufacturing environment.
- Possession of a valid driver's license, enabling transportation for work-related tasks and responsibilities.
