Job Title: Operations Support Lead – Shop & Field Coordination
- Location: Hampstead, NC (Onsite Required)
- Reports To: Engineering Services Manager (Remote) / General Manager
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
- Overtime: Occasional as needed, on-call rotation (shared 1 week per 3-4 weeks)

The Operations Support Lead is a key onsite role responsible for coordinating daily shop workflows, supporting field technician mobilizations, and ensuring seamless job execution across both field and in-house operations. Acting as the physical link between management, admin, and technicians, this position ensures jobs are properly staffed, equipped, and documented from start to finish.
- Oversee shop and specialized field tooling: storage, maintenance & calibration, allocation and return for field assignments
- Track and manage tool inventory, consumables, and part orders
- Support basic fabrication and assembly of job kits or tooling packages
- Validate and maintain shop job documents reviewing costs and timesheets for accuracy
- Review/generate customer reports for shop jobs and activities.
- Maintain readiness of shop/warehouse and associated equipment meeting EHS standards, performing routine inspections, and updating SDS files.
- Maintain and update technician assignment schedule and availability
- Assist with travel planning, mobilization logistics, and site prerequisite coordination
- Onboard/offboard field staff and ensure all certifications are tracked and up to date
- Support technicians with field work scope/reporting documentation accessing and navigating customer information systems and applications.
- Support internal and external quality audits ensuring accurate tool and job documentation
- Maintain digital job logs and assignment records using internal systems (e.g., Access Database, Tool Tracking System)
- Serve as onsite support for remote engineering and admin functions
- Develop/improve job documentation and work instructions
- Coordinate with management to develop proposals
- Participate in internal and external meetings relating to field activities and tooling requirements- 5+ years in technical coordination, field service dispatch, or shop operations
- Familiarity with industrial or field service environments, with a strong understanding of compliance standards, safety protocols, and logistical requirements specific to Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Aviation, or Marine sectors.
- Experience with domestic/international travel or logistics
- Experience working with technical documentation (manuals, drawings, bill of materials, etc.)
- Direct experience in the gas turbine sector preferably with aero-derivative units, including exposure to engine overhaul, tooling, or mobilization planning.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, where field readiness, resource planning, and execution timelines are critical.
- Highly meticulous with a focus on accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking ability
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and digital scheduling tools
- Excellent communication and comfortable interfacing with technicians, management, and clients by telephone, email, and virtual conferencing platforms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks and work well under pressure
- High attention to safety and able to operate material handling equipment
- Reliable, hands-on, and highly detail-oriented
- Self-starter with excellent follow-through and ownership mentality
- Strong communicator, capable of bridging remote and onsite teams
