The Operations Supervisor leads safe and efficient day-to-day operations, ensuring alignment with SECURE’s purpose and values. As a people leader, they foster a strong workplace culture, providing guidance and coaching to operators in a health, safety, and environmentally responsible manner. With deep technical knowledge of operations, they oversee employee training, supervision, and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
The role of Operations Supervisor is structured as a full-time position, working 5 days a week, 40-hours, with the potential for overtime depending on role requirements and deadlines.
- Leading the day-to-day activities of operations and the operations staff
- Serving as a people leader by setting clear expectations, managing operator performance, and providing feedback to develop high-performing teams in alignment with SECURE’s values and expectations.
- Completing progressions and performance reviews with the operators
- Accessible and available to the operators to assist with afterhours issues
- Fostering an environment that promotes the Vision and Culture of the organization
- Leading the safety culture, specifically aiding in the development and delivery of programs and initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with safety practices and procedures
- Ensuring consistent, cost-effective, and technically sound operations
- Developing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and ensuring that they are being upheld through training, coaching and leadership oversight
- Ensuring compliance with all government and environmental regulatory standards
- Ensuring excellent customer service standards
- Evaluating Key Performance Indicators to achieve targets and determine required actions for improvement
- Collaborating with other Operations Leaders (Facility Managers, General Managers) and Support teams to share and implement best practices
- Plays a critical role in supporting the Facility Manager including taking on delegation duties from Facility Manager when applicable and collaborating with support groups
- Grade 12 or General Education Diploma (GED) education
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following waste processing, oil treating and/or water injection, landfill operations (specific to landfills), or relative industry experience
- Valid industry safety tickets
- Strong attention to detail and ability to provide effective leadership and guidance to staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare technical reports
- Proficient with company applications and Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OSI PI, Power BI, MOC, Sharepoint, Certify, Open Invoice, UltiPro, iTRAK and Solver)
