Peninsula Community Center, a ministry of Peninsula Covenant Church (PCC), builds community by providing personal, healthy and meaningful connections through aquatics, fitness, tennis and community programming. PCC is a vibrant and forward-thinking church located in Redwood City, dedicated to serving our community and making a positive impact through our outreach programs, including our Community Center. PCC’s purpose is that "We exist to know Jesus deeply, follow Him faithfully, and guide the next generation to do the same." PCC employs approximately 30 full-time staff and 150 seasonal and part-time staff to support various community efforts. PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE
To manage and maintain accurate accounts receivable processes while providing administrative and customer service support that fosters positive relationships with members, staff, and partners. This role ensures financial accuracy, timely billing, and effective communication to support the overall operations and mission of the organization.
PRINCIPLE WORKING RELATIONSHIP
This role collaborates with the Executive Director, program leaders, administrative teams, vendors, and external partners to handle our accounts receivable. It also involves direct interaction with members, guests, and volunteers.
SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and prepare invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing data.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices, ensuring timely payment from clients.
- Process payments accurately, timely, following organization’s business standards.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding billing and payment.
- Resolve billing issues, such as discrepancies or disputes, by communicating with members and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and complete billing records and reports.
- Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with accounting and financial regulations and policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to members and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as they pertain to and aid in supporting the department’s principal objective.

- Experience with billing software and systems, such as QuickBooks or SAP
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong customer service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in billing, accounting, or a related field
- Experience with billing and or membership software and systems, such as MindBody and Intacct preferred
Experience in a similar industry or field is a plus
- Must be able to work in a shared office space and maneuver throughout the 14-acre campus to and in various buildings including stairs and storage areas
- Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds regularly and up to 30 pounds occasionally
Must adhere to PCC’s Safe Church policies, including mandatory background check
- Part-time position, 15-20 hours per week, generally Mon, thru Friday with flexibility
- Occasional evening and weekend as needed for special events and projects
