Marketing Specialist

Battle River Power Coop is a cooperative electric utility in Central Alberta supplying electricity to about 8700 rural members. We have a staff of 62 employees engaged in all aspects of power distribution from installation to maintenance to billing, all administered from the same office near Camrose, Alberta.

Marketing Specialist

We are looking for highly motivated individual to join our team as our Marketing Specialist. This is a permanent full-time position with flexible work hours.

General Summary:

· Establish positive associations with the public

· Create all social media posts including graphics, photos and videos

· Compose ongoing material for Battle River Power Coop website

· Write monthly Membership newsletter as well as Staff Newsletter

· Write letters

· Create brochures, signs and other print materials for advertising or information purposes

· Attend Chamber of Commerce meetings as Battle River Power Coop representative

· Maintain Battle River Power Coop Membership Value Program

· Organize and oversee community events

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred, with course work in public relations, graphic design, social media, advertising and journalism or equivalent combination of education and experience

· Ability to promote public image of Battle River Power Coop

· Good telephone skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft office

· Work independently and as part of a team

Hours of Operation: Hours of operation are generally 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
