Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance Supervisor South Norwalk Electric & Water (SNEW) – Norwalk, CT

South Norwalk Electric & Water, a municipally owned utility of the Second Taxing District, is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to support the safe and reliable operation of its water distribution system.

Responsibilities

- Supervise maintenance and construction staff; schedule and coordinate daily work

- Oversee repairs to water mains, hydrants, valves, services, storage tanks, pump stations & other distribution related components.

- Manage leak survey, CBYD mark-outs, hydrant flushing, and preventative maintenance

- Train staff and ensure compliance with all safety procedures (confined space, excavation, traffic control, lockout/tagout)

- Diagnose system issues and oversee planned and emergency maintenance

- Maintain accurate utility records

- Maintaining inventory and materials to complete tasks

Qualifications

- 5+ years of water system maintenance/construction experience - 10+ years underground utility experience (or equivalent)

- Ability to operate heavy machinery (Excavator, Backhoe)

- Valid CDL required

- Must live within 30 minutes of Norwalk, CT or Wilton Filtration Plant

- CT Class II Distribution license (or the ability to attain within 24 months)

- CT Class III Distribution license (or the ability to attain within 36 months)

Additional Information

- Hourly position; requires on-call, overtime, and emergency response

Pay: $47.08 - $48.58 per hour
