Summary Of Position

The Maintenance Supervisor DDS is a day shift role, accountable for leading maintenance activities in the dragline, drills and shovel areas. This role will have key accountabilities for coordinating day to day maintenance activities by communicating essential planning information and shift knowledge to crew members. The role is very hands-on and requires a high level of energy and safety leadership.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Actively works to reduce risk at all levels of the organization. Demonstrates a willingness and ability to contribute to the formal safety systems within the company.

- Monitors safe behaviors and practices of mechanics, welders, and contractors, etc.

- Ensure compliance with rules and policies.

- Demonstrates the ability to use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as Ellipse, Maintenance Workbench

- Demonstrates the ability to be a positive leader in the maintenance department and is willing to correct issues as they arise as well as reward positive performance within a timely manner.

- Exhibits high-quality mechanical ability and understands mechanical systems of large earth moving equipment including draglines, drills, and shovels.

- Must have the ability to understand troubleshooting, diagnostics, manuals & schematics.

- Organizes and obtain parts, resources and equipment for Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule compliance and breakdown management.

- Ensure jobs are effectively closed out.

- Must show a willingness and ability to work in a team environment.

- Ability to work with little or no supervision, including the ability to assume additional responsibility with minimal supervision.

- Consistently display positive behavior that supports the organization's goals and objectives

- Ensure adequate manpower is available each shift.Assign shift manpower to meet the workload.Manage vacation, absences, and outside resources to complete work.

- Communicates effectively with others by providing information for planning, prioritizing and completing tasks.

- Must be a self-starter, safety conscious, and able to function in other support requirements as needed.

- Assist Planner in planning jobs.Provide insight to machine conditions and assist in creating jobs Scope of Work and facilitate input from maintainers in developing work plans.


Qualifications

Knowledge and Relevant Experience

- Five years maintenance experience, preferably working on draglines, drills, and shovels.

- Two years leadership experience in mining or heavy equipment maintenance.

- Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems-Ellipse and Maintenance Workbench preferred.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

- Valid driver's license.

- Wyoming Surface Coal Foreman certification or ability to get temporary permit and pass next test

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams safely, including personally modelling leadership and safety behaviors.

- B.S. Mechanic/Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.

- Candidates with technical school education preferred.

Leadership/Management

- Leader in safety.

- Responsible for development and coaching of employees.

- Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requir d to talk or hear. The employee is required to continuously sit with frequent forward bending and rotation. The employee must frequently lift, carry and/or move up to 15 pounds; rarely to horizontally lift up to 34 pounds; and rarely lift, carry and/or move up to 50 pounds or swing up to 12 pounds. The employee is required to rarely push or pull up to 100 pounds of force. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms; occasionally use a right hand grip up to 30 pounds of force; and rarely use hand at an elevated level. The employee is required continuously stand with forward bending and frequently rotating; kneel; and frequently to walk; climb stairs; crouch; squat repetitively; and occasionally crawl. Rarely the employee is required to squat repetitively or reach up to 74". Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- Working Environment: Works in office environment and site environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Working outdoors in all weather conditions; working in plant environment; working in shop environment; and working in the cab of equipment or vehicle.
