About This Job

PETRONAS Canada is one of the largest natural gas resource owners in Canada. We have operations in the Montney play in northeast British Columbia and are a partner in LNG Canada. As part of PETRONAS, a dynamic global energy group with presence in over 100 countries, we are well-positioned to provide global markets with responsibly-developed Canadian energy while supporting local jobs, collaborating with Indigenous communities and protecting the environment.

At PETRONAS Canada, we are committed to building Canada’s energy future – and people are fundamental to our success. We foster a culture of open collaboration and empowerment across our team of skilled professionals, while supporting career development opportunities. We are looking for can-do problem solvers to join our team who are innovative and passionate about driving strong safety, operational and sustainability performance in everything we do. Our unique culture and commitment to growth makes the company a great place to build your career.

THE ROLE:

Reporting directly to the Field Foreman, the Maintenance Lead plays a key role in advancing operational efficiency within the Integrated Operations program. This position focuses on identifying process enhancements, managing quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) inspections, and overseeing third-party maintenance staff. Join our team to contribute to a more efficient and reliable operations environment that drives success.

This exciting opportunity is based at a camp approximately 1.5 hours north of Fort St. John, BC. You'll enjoy a stable schedule with a standardized 15-day on, 13-day off rotation. This is a safety sensitive position, and therefore you are required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.

The successful candidate will be an experienced and effective leader who takes pride in developing talent within their organization and is committed to upholding PETRONAS’ culture of safety, innovation, integrity, and collaboration within an entrepreneurial environment.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

- Drive the company’s methodology for requisitioning, planning, and scheduling maintenance activities

- Identify inefficiencies and collaborate with leadership to drive enhancements and complete high-priority tasks

- Serve as the primary liaison for third-party maintenance services. Establish KPIs, track vendor performance, and report findings to senior leadership

- Oversee the operating schedule for maintenance services, ensuring adequate staffing in alignment with operational needs

- Set performance benchmarks and lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize maintenance productivity, including conducting thorough QA/QC assessments

- Contribute to vendor RFP evaluations by reviewing technical expertise and cost submissions to ensure alignment with project requirements

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for comprehensive vendor selection based on best practices

- Monitor and resolve deficiencies in assets transferred from the Facilities department to Operations within specified timelines

WHAT YOU BRING:

- 5+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry, ideally with a certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance

- Expertise in diagnosing and resolving maintenance issues swiftly to enhance operational efficiency

- Proven leadership in managing maintenance teams, promoting teamwork, collaboration, clear communication, and effective task delegation

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve optimal results

- In-depth knowledge of the operating area, enabling efficient scheduling and logistical management of maintenance tasks

- Ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic environments, excelling at managing competing priorities and making well-informed decisions to navigate challenges and opportunities

Job postings are typically only open for applications for two weeks so please submit your resume today.

WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN OUR TEAM:

- Competitive compensation and bonus programs

- Top tier benefit package, including a generous Health and Wellness Spending Account and Savings Plan

- Dress for your day - a casual yet professional environment

- Ability to contribute to a dynamic organization with large growth ambitions

- Making a positive difference in our communities through volunteerism, community support and providing opportunities to those in the areas where we operate

- Annual employee-directed charity donation program

- Support for training and professional development

PETRONAS Canada would like to thank all applicants for their interest in joining our team; however only the candidates selected for interviews will be contacted.
