Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machinist Class A & B, where you'll play a vital role in producing precision components using advanced machining techniques. - Operate CNC machining centers such as CNC lathes and CNC milling machines, primarily utilizing Fanuc controls, to produce complex parts with precision.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and CAD models to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Program CNC machines using CAM software and write or modify CNC code to optimize machining processes.
- Use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality standards.
- Set up tooling, fixtures, and tooling offsets; perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct electrical discharge machining (EDM) as needed for intricate or hard materials requiring high precision.
- Perform assembly tasks and utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to lean manufacturing principles and safety protocols; operate forklifts as necessary for material handling.
- Proven experience as a Machinist Class A or B in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of machining operations.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, especially with Fanuc controls, along with solid knowledge of G-code and M-code programming languages.
- Skilled in reading blueprints and technical drawings with GD&T specifications; familiar with CAD software such as SolidWorks for part design review.
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), CAM programming, and plastics injection molding processes is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing tooling selection, setup procedures, basic math skills for measurement calculations, and troubleshooting machine issues.
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and the use of precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Ability to operate CNC mills and lathes confidently while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members on assembly tasks or process improvements; willingness to learn new skills such as welding or advanced measurement techniques.
