Machine Operator - Plasma Table & Brake Press

Nordic Minesteel Technologies (NMT) is currently seeking a Machine Operator - Fabrication to join our team in a faced-paced metal fabrication environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fabrication equipment or have advanced computer skills in a manufacturing environment. This role is critical to the successful build of mining equipment by setting up, operating and monitoring the CNC Plasma Table and Brake Press.

Job Description

- Set up, operate and monitor the CNC flame table to cut steel and other metals according to specifications.

- Operate the brake press to bend and form metal parts with precision.

- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work instructions.

- Inspect finished parts for quality, accuracy and conformance to specifications.

- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any issue or malfunctions.

- Handle raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently.

- Position or align components and parts, either manually or with hoists.

- Prepare work to be accomplished by studying parts list and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Follow all company safety policies, procedures and PPE requirements.

- Assist with other fabrication or production tasks as required.

Required Experience and Skills

- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Hands-on experience with fabrication equipment or advanced computer skills (programming an asset).

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.

- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

- Knowledge of safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.

- Can work independently with minimal supervision.

- Able to lift up to 22kgs or 50lbs

- Able to stand and walk throughout the shift

- Punctual, reliable and responsible

Hours of Operation: 03:30 p.m. to 02:00 a.m.

Shift Premium: $1.00 per hour.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
