We are looking for a skilled and experienced Brake Press Machine Operator to set up, maintain and operate machinery.
You will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal components according to specifications. Your CNC experience will be crucial in programming and operating the machinery to ensure precision and quality in production.
- Set Up and Operation: Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to bend and form metal components, ensuring all operations adhere to safety and quality standards.
- CNC Programming: Program CNC press brake machines using appropriate software, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the production process.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the correct machine settings and sequence of operations.
- Quality Control: Inspect completed parts for conformance to specifications, making necessary adjustments to machines as required.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, troubleshooting and resolving any issues to minimize downtime.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including welders, fabricators, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
- Use of micrometers, calipers, etc. to inspect/measure/visually check parts to ensure they conform to specifications.
- Math skills required for calculating and adjusting bends
- Computer use to record, create, and print: routing tickets, work orders, quality checks, etc.
- Set up and operate all assembly equipment.
- Assist in equipment maintenance as directed.
- Produce and verify parts as outlined in procedures and work instructions in the department manual.
- Make Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor aware of changes needed to process routers and procedures as necessary.
- Perform general housekeeping duties as directed.
- Make Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor aware of any non-conformance in product.
- Perform duties as directed by Supervisor/Assistant Supervisor.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating CNC press brake machines in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the steel industry.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of CNC programming, machine setup, and operation. Familiarity with various types of metal, including steel.
- Blueprint Reading: Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical training or certification in CNC machining or press brake operation is preferred.
