As a Break Press Operator, you will be responsible to ensure that all finished products are completed with quality and using all tools appropriately.
· Set up, operate and troubleshoot break press
· Identify different types, grades, and gauges of sheet metal
· Adhere to manufacturing blueprints, specifications, and SOP’s
· Regularly inspect tooling for damages through cleaning and proper handling/storage
· Completing required inventory transactions, movements, scrap reporting, and part counts with accuracy within ERP/MRP System including part identification and safe part stacking practices
· Use of metric/imperial measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, protractors, rulers, etc.)
· Maintain all activities that are performed with high standards and quality
· Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
· Comply with all Health & Safety related policies, procedures, and safe work practices
· Perform any other duties that may be superficially or generally assigned
· Ability to work with minimum supervision and initiate actions within the scope of authority
· Available to work additional hours when required
· Able to assist with other tasks that were assigned by the Manager
· Technical program through College or University is an asset
· Minimum high school education (OSSD) or equivalent experience
· Minimum five (5) years break press operation experience (in a sheet metal manufacturing environment would be an asset)
· Ability to work with minimal supervision and initiate actions within the scope of authority
· Advanced knowledge of different types, grades, and gauges of sheet metal is an asset
· Experience setting up and operating brake press machines
· Experience with metric/imperial measurement tools (tape measures, calipers, protractors, rulers, etc.)
· Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs consistently throughout the work day
· Manual dexterity and free range of motion with the ability to stand for the entire length of shift
· Repetitive movements such as bending, crouching, kneeling and crawling
· Frequent periods of mental and visual concentration during computer work and analyses
· Frequent interruptions which require the ability to juggle several priorities and refocus quickly
· Ability to receive verbal and written instructions in order to execute job tasks
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
· Ability to work in a team environment with great people skills
· Ability to train and motivate others on the shop floor with great result orientation
· Working in indoor environment that does not have air conditioning
· Exposure to factors such as humidity, dust, dirt, grease, and chemicals and/or fumes
· May be exposed to loud or distracting sounds (noise level over 85dB)
