Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plasma Table Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and maintain plasma cutting equipment to produce precise metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
- Set up and operate plasma cutting tables to cut sheet metal and other materials accurately according to technical drawings.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure precise fabrication.
- Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) plasma tables for complex cuts, optimizing machine performance and material usage.
- Perform routine maintenance on plasma cutting equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to verify dimensions and surface finish.
- Use hand tools, fabrication tools, and tooling to assist in assembly or secondary operations as needed.
- Operate overhead cranes or forklifts safely for material handling and loading/unloading raw materials or finished parts.
- Proven experience operating CNC plasma cutting tables or similar CNC laser cutting equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues quickly.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, angles, and material requirements.
- Experience with CNC programming or editing programs for plasma or laser cutting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication processes, and sheet metal working is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, cranes, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment safely.
