The position for an Instrumentation and Electrical Technician is located between San Angelo and Midland, near Sterling City, TX (within 60 miles of worksite preferred).

The Lead Compressor Mechanic plays a crucial role in the oil and gas industry in maintaining and repairing gas compressors. The candidate provides mechanical and technical support to wellsite and facility compression. Daily work drives the efficiency and reliability of gas compression directly related to oil and gas production.
- Operating Compressors: Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating compressors in the field. Ensure compressors operate efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving: Address non-routine issues and solve problems related to gas compressors with minimal supervision. Problem-solving skills to ensure issues are being addressed and solved effectively.
- Preventive Maintenance: Regularly perform preventive maintenance on natural gas-driven engines and compressors.
- Repair and Overhaul: Overhaul and repair natural gas engines, compressors, and related equipment.
- Safety and Organization: Maintain a safe and well-organized environment and sustain a safe work space.
- Inspection and Troubleshooting: Conduct daily inspections on all mechanical systems, and equipment, identifying potential issues, recommending upgrades and repairs, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
- Calibration and Modification: Calibrate and modify equipment and systems according to site-specific needs. Adjust settings or parameters to optimize performance.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support across the field, Collaborate with other team members to address any mechanic-related challenges.
- Parts Inventory: Maintain an adequate supply of parts for emergency repairs. Ensure necessary components are readily available to ensure timely repairs.
- Expertise: Have advanced knowledge of internal combustion engines(Caterpillar) and compressors(Ariel/GE) used in the natural gas industry.
- Problem-Solving: Address complex issues with minimal supervision, ensuring optimal performance of compressors in the field.
- In-depth knowledge of compression equipment, engine driven coolers, and natural gas engines.
- Detailed understanding of gas engines, compressors, electrical systems, and control panels.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Certificate of training in gas compression or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in mechanics is a plus.
- Proven experience as an Oil and Gas Compressor Mechanic-Lead or in a related role.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
