Description:

Xcel Energy has an opportunity for a long-term internship within the Operation Technology (OT) Support organization. This unique internship will offer access to work with the AD-Ops Delivery - Energy Management System(PSCO- EMS Team). The successful candidate will gain insight and exposure to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC)- Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Compliance requirements and be able to support with proper documentation as well as evidence gathering. Over the course of 18 months (20-40 hours weekly), the intern will learn and work on specific requirements within the EMS Team.

AD-Ops Delivery - EMS Organization- The intern will develop skills for Application Delivery area and CIP documentation for meeting compliance requirement and provide support with daily tasks and needs of Transmission Operations as well as Commercial Operations teams.

This position is for a May 2025. These positions may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel’s business needs.

Minimum Requirements

Current student, Sophomore, Junior level only* Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in the field of computer science, management information systems, computer engineering, engineering, mathematics, analytics, or business.* Able to commute to the Lookout Center in Golden, CO* Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the spring (up to 20 hours a week)*

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $20.40 to $21.60 per hour
