GVEC is looking to hire you for the position of Engineering Intern to deliver the unexpected with a willingness to continuously develop yourself, your department, and our organization. As an Engineering Intern, you will support the Engineering team with daily tasks, activities and projects. You will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of the department and to take ownership of certain projects and tasks.
The pay for this role is $20.00/hr. and will be commensurate based on your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition, GVEC ties cash bonuses to a multitude of organizational benchmarks set forth annually.
- Review VAR Flows on distribution feeders and adjust with Cap Banks available to improve system power factor and power quality
- Assist Engineering Team in developing System Improvement Projects, subdivision design, drafting and other general day-to-day duties as directed
- Assist Reliability Coordinator with troubleshooting issues within the distribution system
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college program with a minimum (3.0) GPA
- Must be pursuing a degree in Engineering, electrical preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work well in team environments and independently
