Overview
We are seeking a skilled Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various industrial and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical work, including blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation. This position offers an excellent opportunity for experienced electricians to apply their technical expertise in diverse projects such as renovations, new constructions, and upgrades. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of industrial electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and the use of hand and power tools. A handyman experience and familiarity with construction environments are considered valuable assets. Overtime is occasionally required and working outside normal business hours is required on occasion.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in industrial and commercial facilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate wiring and system setup
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical equipment safely and efficiently
- Work with low voltage wiring for control panels, communication systems, and automation equipment
- Assist with renovation projects by upgrading or modifying existing electrical infrastructure
- Install and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential electrical issues before they escalate
- Follow all safety protocols and electrical codes to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites or renovation projects to meet project deadlines
- Proven experience as an electrician with a valid journeyperson license or certification
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical diagrams
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems and low voltage wiring
- Familiarity with industrial environments
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment for electrical work
- Background in handyman tasks or general construction work is a plus
- Ability to interpret technical documents related to schematics and wiring diagrams
