Position Description
Tacoma Power is seeking a Joint Use Permitting Specialist to join their Transmission and Distribution (T&D) team. The Joint Use Permitting Specialist will focus on reviewing and processing applications in Tacoma Power’s permitting system, Accela, for requests to attach to Tacoma Power poles. In this role, you will assist with analyzing pole attachment records, preparing summaries and reports, and developing work processes. Key functions of this position will include the use of enterprise resource planning software (SAP) for the creation of work orders, invoices, financial reports, and detailed account reconciliation. The selected candidate will work closely with technical experts in addition to frequent interaction with external customer representatives. This role will also include customer account administration and bill paying functions.
Responsibilities Include
- Review and analyze requests for attachments to Tacoma Power's utility poles; assist customers with application submittal in the Accela Customer Access Portal and verify completeness and accuracy of data.
- Clearly communicate requirements with applicants to ensure compliance with agreements and standards; monitor program lifecycle, including permit cycle, SAP contract accounts, and revenues.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure requests for attachments to Tacoma Power poles are reviewed and processed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Review and interpret contract language requirements.
- Issue make-ready construction quotes and create cash invoices in SAP for make-ready work.
- Assist with maintaining attachment records and pole inventory by extracting data from Accela, evaluating accuracy.
- Create and maintain Accela and SAP standard operating procedures.
- Create/update/close work orders in SAP to track labor and equipment time for field inspections, Make-Ready work, and Line Engineering review.
- Bill external entities for project costs, requested services, and/or billable projects.
- Maintain superior customer service and resolve issues as they arise; ensure timely responses to both internal and external customers.
- Track program statistics for benchmarking.
Qualifications
Minimum Education*Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or directly related field
Minimum Experience*
2 years of analytical and/or program coordination/management work in area related to assignment
- Relevant education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis

Pay Details:
Annual Salary: $91,416.00 - $128,689.60
