There is an exciting and inviting opportunity for an IT Support Technician I to be based in our Corporate Office. The IT Help Desk Support will take initial steps to help the company with any IT needs that arise. Reporting directly to the System Administrator, in this position you will provide first-line technical support for JS West staff via walk-in, telephone, and service tickets. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving abilities, be an excellent communicator, and is eager to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Triage incoming support requests.
•Troubleshoot and resolve support requests within the parameters of the Service-Level Agreement (SLA).
•Maintain continued communication with staff while working through support requests.
•Continually revise and expand support documentation to streamline future support engagements.
•Deploy workstation IT equipment such as PC’s, laptops, printers, and scanners in accordance with company standards.
•Troubleshoot basic networking issues and escalate to networking team with relevant findings.
•Install, support, and troubleshoot fleet vehicle IT equipment.
•Assist poultry staff in troubleshooting high-priority technical issues related to egg processing.
•Occasional travel to multiple facilities to provide IT support.
•Complete projects as assigned.
•Maintain a spirit of innovation, excellence, and iterative improvement.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 productivity suite in a corporate environment.
•Understanding of common IT management tools such as:
•Endpoint protection Antivirus
•Mobile Device Management (MDM)
•Microsoft RemoteApp and remote desktop
•Familiarity with computer hardware component assembly and troubleshooting.
•Basic understanding of TCP/IP, Internet Protocol v4, Domain Name Service (DNS), and common Wi-Fi technologies.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Job Prerequisites and Credentials:
•Associate’s degree in information technology related field, OR two (2) years of experience in technical support or related field.
•Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or relevant vendor-specific certifications are not required, but are preferred.
•Must have a valid driver’s license.
•Ability to lift 40 pounds.
