WQS Non-Destructive Testing (“WQS NDT”) is actively recruiting for an IT Coordinator to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta!
About the Role
The IT Coordinator will play a key role in managing and supporting the day-to-day technology needs of a growing NDT and Industrial services company. This position will be responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure, providing user support, and assisting in the implementation of systems and software that keep our teams connected and operating efficiently—whether in the office, shop, or field.
Key Responsibilities
•Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and networking issues across the company.
•Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals.
•Coordinate with vendors for procurement and support of IT hardware, software, and services.
•Administer user accounts, email systems, security permissions, and data backups.
•Maintain inventory of IT equipment and manage asset lifecycle tracking.
•Monitor system performance and ensure data security, integrity, and disaster recovery protocols are in place.
•Assist with the implementation, configuration, and support of industry-specific software (e.g., inspection reporting tools, scheduling platforms, timesheet apps).
•Support connectivity and communication tools for field-based teams and remote job sites.
•Contribute to IT policy development and the rollout of best practices for cybersecurity and data protection.
•Collaborate with leadership and field operations to evaluate and implement new technologies.
What You Will Bring
•2+ years of experience in IT coordination or IT support role, preferably in an industrial or field services environment.
•Strong understanding of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals, and remote access tools.
•Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, and SharePoint administration.
•Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
•A proactive and user-focused approach to IT service delivery.
•Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
•Valid driver’s license and willingness to support occasional off-site/field IT needs.
•Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and basic compliance standards.
