We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Manager to join our team and ensure proper process, procedures, documentation and processing.
Position Overview:
As the HR Manager, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing the company’s human resources activities. You will be responsible for recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with local labor laws, and more. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the company's HR strategy and work closely with leadership to support our employees’ success.
This is a hands-on role where initiative, organization and sober-second thought a must.
This is not a remote work position but does have some flexibility as life happens to be able to work from home on occasion.
Key Responsibilities:
•Recruitment and Onboarding:
•Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job ads, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making offers.
•Oversee employee onboarding, ensuring new hires feel welcomed and are properly trained for their roles and proper documentation completed and filed.
•Foster a positive work environment by supporting employee engagement initiatives.
•Address employee concerns or conflicts, providing guidance and support when needed.
•Act as a trusted advisor to both employees and leadership on HR-related issues.
•Support managers in performance evaluation processes and provide guidance on coaching, feedback, and improvement plans.
•Help implement training programs for skills development and career growth.
•Compensation and Benefits:
•Administer compensation programs, ensuring they are competitive and aligned with company goals.
•Manage employee benefits, including health insurance, pensions, and other perks.
•Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
•Payroll, Quarterly and annual reconciliations.
•Compliance and Policy Management:
•Ensure compliance with local labor laws, including employment standards, health and safety, and privacy regulations.
•Develop and update HR policies and procedures to ensure they meet legal requirements and reflect company culture.
•HR Systems and Reporting:
•Maintain HR records and ensure proper documentation for all employee-related activities.
•Prepare HR-related reports for leadership as needed, including turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and other metrics.
•Standardization of HR records including Employment Contracts, Offers, Compensation changes.
•Other reporting as needed by other departments
Qualifications:
•5 Years of HR experience, ideally in a small to mid-sized company.
•Strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws and regulations.
•Strong knowledge of United States labor laws and regulations.
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
•Experience with ADP Workforce Now and payroll systems is an asset.
•Experience with Microsoft Suite is an asset.
Working Conditions:
•Full-time, 40 hours per week, in SE Calgary office with flexible working arrangements on an ad hoc basis.
