Position summary: The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for performing a variety of HR functions including training, recruitment and selection, employee engagement, compensation, performance management, legal compliance and day-to-day HR operations. This role will work with management to foster a positive work culture while ensuring HR practices align with company values.
Essential functions:
Recruitment and Staffing:
•Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and onboarding new hires.
•Maintain a positive candidate experience, ensuring a smooth and welcoming process for all applicants.
•Coordinate with department managers to understand staffing needs and help meet those requirements.
Employee Relations
•Act as a liaison between employees and management to address concerns, resolve conflicts and promote a positive work environment.
•Implement and support employee engagement programs to boost morale and foster teamwork
•Coordinate Company events, i.e. Company Picnic, cookouts, etc.
Compliance and Policies
•Stay current with labor laws and regulations to ensure company compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
•Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness.
•May prepare and maintain employee records. Must ensure that all documentation is up to date and compliant with legal requirements.
Training and Development
•Take an active role in the company’s training and development programs.
•Monitor LMS to ensure training is being completed in the appropriate timeframe and utilize system to administer re-training when needed.
Compensation and Benefits
•Assist with administering employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
•Assist in payroll processing and ensure accuracy in compensation-related data.
•Other duties in support of human resources and business initiatives as assigned.
Education, skills and experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management preferred.
•2-5 years’ experience in a human resources generalist capacity supporting several hundred employees in a manufacturing environment. Experience working for a family-owned business is preferred.
•Proficient knowledge of HR laws, labor relations, compensation and benefits.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
•Must have the ability to deliver service during periodic levels of high demand.
•Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving.
•Strong organization skills with high attention to detail.
•Proficient in MS Office Suite and HRIS software (ADP, preferred).
