Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and proactive HR Generalist to join our team in Maryland. This is a 100% in-person role with no remote work available. The HR Generalist will support daily human resources operations and help foster a positive, compliant, and efficient workplace environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong time management skills who thrives with minimal supervision and takes initiative to drive HR functions forward.
Key Responsibilities:
•Facilitate new hire onboarding and employee offboarding
•Conduct new hire orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the company
•Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, and procedures
•Assist with benefits administration, including enrollments and employee communication
•Maintain and update accurate employee records in the HRIS system
•Maintain driver qualification files and records in compliance with FMCSA/DOT regulations
•Ensure compliance with federal, state (including Maryland), and local employment laws
•Support the recruitment process, including posting jobs, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews
•Assist in managing performance review cycles and employee relations issues
•Help organize training and development initiatives
•Prepare HR reports and contribute to process improvement projects
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
•1–3 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably with generalist duties
•Familiarity with FMCSA/DOT compliance and driver record management preferred
•Strong working knowledge of HR policies and employment law, particularly within Maryland
•Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday)
•Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
•Must be a self-starter who works well independently with minimal supervision
•Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively
•Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
•PHR or SHRM-CP certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to sit for extended periods of time
•Ability to climb steps and move around the office
•Ability to lift or move 10-20 pounds
Work Environment:
•This is a fully in-person position based at our Maryland office. Candidates must be available to work on-site during regular business hours.

Pay: $66,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
