General Laborer

Kings Energy Services is urgently seeking a motivated and high-performing individual to fill the permanent full-time position of General Laborer at our Provost, Alberta branch.

Kings Energy Services serves the Energy Industry and Industrial sectors Canada-wide specializing in sales, distribution, and service of valves, instrumentation & electrical products. It is also a solutions provider to the Oil and Gas Drilling Sector specializing in recertification, machining, and manufacturing. Since 1977 it has offered superior shop and field service through its seven regional locations across Canada.

This position will assist with basic shop housekeeping and valve servicing duties. This entry-level and all-encompassing position would be ideal for someone looking to gain experience in the oil and gas servicing industry.

What you will be responsible for:

- Reporting directly to the Branch Lead.

- Building pallets.

- Cleaning / painting valves.

- Performing delivery runs to customers and/ or service field personnel.

- Fully understanding Safety and QC manuals.

- Maintaining and operating tools under supervision.

- Organizing and cleaning the shop departments.

- Other duties as required to assist with workloads.

- Traveling to other branch locations to support workloads.

Success in this role will come from:

- Having basic computer skills.

- Possessing high accuracy and attention to details.

- Understanding maps and GPS readings.

- Being mechanically inclined and possessing tool knowledge.

- The ability to be organized, punctual and able to work efficiently in a high paced, stressful environment.

- Maintaining flexibility when adapting to changes in scheduling or work requirements.

Requirements:

- High school Diploma or GED equivalent

- Valid Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract required.

- Current H2S, 1st Aid, TDG, CSO, Forklift, Overhead Crane Tickets considered assets.

- Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

- Shop and field environments also with potential to travel to other branches or work on the onsite mobile unit.

- Must be available during busy turnaround schedules.

- Hands-on role - standing for long periods, frequent kneeling, lifting and bending.

- Exposure to sudden loud noises (pops/bangs), harsh cleaning chemicals (Varsol), etc.

- Steel-toed boots required.

- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, overtime and weekends as required.

- This is considered a safety sensitive position - the successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test.
