Flow Waterjet Operator

Job Summary

Metal Distributor looking for machine operator to run Flow Waterjet cutting machines on our split shift starting at 9a.m. to 5:0 p.m, Monday through Friday. If you're interested in learning a trade in the metal and manufacturing industry without the cost of college or vocational training we will provide ALL training for this position for the right candidate. The right candidate MUST have excellent precision measurement skills and understanding of machine tolerances. They must be familiar with or able to read blue prints and be have some Autocad 2D experience. If candidate has experience with Nesting software that is a plus!

This position is also a part of a team to close up shop at the end of each day.

Future Potential to become a waterjet machine programmer learning a trade in the metals industry.

Must be able to lift/maneuver 75 lbs; be at least 18 years of age. If you have ANY Autocad 2D experience and can demonstrate this, starting pay will be at the higher end than just general knowledge. If you've had any waterjet experience we will also adjust start wages accordingly. This position will assist the lead first shift Waterjet Operator who does the initial setups, machine changes/toolings/repairs.

90 Day probationary with review. Starting salary dependent upon experience in WATERJET machine experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00 [no waterjet experience] to $23.00 /hour depending upon metal/machinist experience to start and then 90 day review with appropriate adjustment for successful completion of job tasks, duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Duties

Pull Stock using overhead cranes and forklift and setup bed of machine for maximum cutting efficiency.

Maintain machine abrasive, coolants, and some mechanical tooling changes working with Lead Waterjet programmer/operator.

Make proper, quality packaging for material orders to ensure product shipment.

Transfer Drawings from computer to machine for proper cutting. [Nesting Software]

Help second shift team in closing up warehouse and shutting down at end of shift

Other projects as determined by Plant Manager or owner

Some weekend transition work to continue set-up of machine for continued cutting.

Qualifications and Skills

Any prior waterjet experience. Any metal machine operations. Any 2-D Autocad drawing experience and reading prints. Any Nesting experience.

Being Mechanically inclined will help with all tasks

Precision Measuring tools understanding of tolerances and curf.

Excellent Math skills in feet and inches for multiple cuts including curf and a good memory

Uniforms are provided after 90 days for all warehouse employees.

Steel-toed boot allowance is $50.00 annually. Must wear Steel-Toed boots upon hire.

All other PPE is provided free to employee.
