Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Waterjet/Laser Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating CNC machinery, with a focus on waterjet and laser cutting processes. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints effectively. The operator will be responsible for producing high-quality parts while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Operate waterjet and laser cutting machines to produce parts according to specifications.
- Set up and calibrate CNC machines for optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Perform quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and optimize production processes.
- Utilize hand tools and fabrication techniques for assembly tasks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines and waterjet systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with CNC programming, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and electrical discharge machining is advantageous.
- Experience with other machinery such as plasma cutting, press brake machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, welding, and assembly processes is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic math calculations related to machining tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints and CAD designs effectively and understand tooling requirements for various projects.
