Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Fixed Plant Welder to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.

As part of the Fixed Plant Maintenance Team, the Fixed Plant Welder will support the safe and efficient operation of our mining operations by performing welding and fabrication work on various equipment, ranging from conveyors to heavy-duty machinery. The Fixed Plant Welder work will involve the construction of new structures, as well as repairs, modifications, and maintenance of existing infrastructure and equipment.
- Perform welding on a variety of equipment and machinery, including conveyors, chutes, tanks, and other fixed plant equipment.
- Fabricate and construct new structures, components, or equipment as needed.
- Modify and repair existing equipment to meet operational needs or safety standards.
- Conduct inspections to assess equipment damage or wear and provide recommendations for repairs.
- Ensure all welding activities align with safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Work closely with mechanics, electricians, and other maintenance personnel to coordinate repairs and minimize downtime.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergencies promptly to reduce production delays.
- Keep maintenance logs and ensure proper documentation of completed work.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and adherence to mine safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized mobile welding unit, ensuring tools and equipment are in good working condition.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in welding or fabrication (e.g., CWB, AWS) is highly preferred.
- Journeyperson Welder Certification or equivalent (Red Seal preferred).
- Valid driver's license; ability to operate site vehicles.
- 2+ years experience as a welder, ideally in a mining or heavy industrial setting.- Experience working with various welding techniques, such as MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of metallurgy and welding materials.
- Proficiency in using power tools, cutting torches, and welding equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Competitive Hourly Rate: $53.90/hr with an additional 10% annual bonus
