Job Summary

Performs construction, operation and maintenance of MGU natural gas distribution system(s). Operates and makes repairs to equipment such as trenching machines, backhoes, tractors, trucks, winches, etc. Assists in the installation and repair of all types, sizes and pressures of gas mains and services.

Job Responsibilities

- Operate construction equipment, trenching/shoring, etc. Perform all types of work required for the construction, maintenance and installation of the natural gas system. Install/remove domestic meters/regulators and various chart changes. Other construction and maintenance work as directed

- Perform valve maintenance and leak survey/leak repairs of the gas system. Staking/locating of the gas system. Perform other Primary/common duties as listed in the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) or otherwise assigned

- Basic knowledge of underground piping systems and safety practices. Plumbing and/or pipe fitting experience preferred

- Must provide standby services on a rotating basis. Respond to after hour emergencies

Minimum Qualifications

- High School Diploma, HSED, or GED

- 1+ years operation of construction equipment

- Must live within or move within a 15 mile radius of Coldwater work center within 90 days of start date

- Valid driver's license and meet company's standards for driving

- Must have or obtain and maintain valid CDL

- Must be able to be fit tested for SCBA equipment and maintain qualifications

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
