Finishing Room Supervisor – Cast Iron Foundry

Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finishing Room Supervisor to lead our cast iron foundry finishing operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire finishing process, ensuring that cast iron products meet the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement, foster teamwork, and uphold safety protocols, all while managing a skilled team of technicians and operators. Responsibilities

- Supervise daily finishing room activities, including grinding, quality control and shipping.

- Coordinate with Senior Management team to prioritize tasks and meet delivery deadlines efficiently

- Ensure all finishing processes adhere to quality standards

- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular safety audits, and providing training on equipment use and safety procedures

- Manage inventory of tooling, hand tools, consumable supplies, and fabrication materials to ensure smooth workflow

- Facilitate ongoing training for team members on equipment operation, blueprint reading, and quality inspection methods

- Collaborate with quality assurance to perform inspections during each stage of finishing to ensure compliance with specifications

Skills

- Proven experience operating and supervising in manufacturing. Foundry experience in a finishing department would be ideal.

- Basic math skills for measurement calculations and process adjustments

- Excellent leadership capabilities with experience managing teams in a fast-paced production setting

- Strong commitment to safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives
