Financial Accountant

Primary Function

Under general supervision performs complex accounting functions in connection with balancing and maintenance of ledgers, journals, financial statements and reports; participates in the design, testing, and implementation of computer application systems to incorporate better business practices; assists in establishing operating controls and guidelines to improve operation efficiency; compiles financial data and responds to inquiries by auditors; prepares financial and single audit statements; determines and analyzes records in order to comply with state and IRS regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting, business or public administration and emphasis in accounting, computer science, auditing or system analysis, and two years of accounting and auditing experience.

Licensing & Certification Requirements

Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline.

A negative drug test is required as a condition of employment.
