The Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the manufacturing facility through accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, routine accounting tasks, and month-end close activities. This role assists in maintaining general ledger integrity, performing account reconciliations, supporting inventory and fixed asset accounting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Process vendor invoices, including three-way matching to purchase orders and receiving documentation
- Prepare and post customer invoices and credit memos; apply customer payments
- Reconcile AP and AR subledgers to the general ledger
- Prepare and post routine journal entries
- Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research variances
- Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations and adjustment entries
- Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation and related transactions
- Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules for management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
- Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits
- Participate in process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1–2 years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred
- Basic understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
- Familiarity with AP, AR, and general ledger processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Payroll experience not required, but considered a plus
