TES Inc. is looking for a dynamic and hard-working specialist to join their Corporate Accounting and Finance Group as Financial Reporting Accountant.
- The Financial Reporting Accountant is an integral part of the Corporate Finance and Accounting department. The successful applicant will serve as a member of our Accounting team in the areas of financial reporting, indirect and direct taxes, internal controls over financial reporting and various external audits as they arise. This is an evolving role as the Corporate Finance and Accounting team works to meet the needs of our growing business. - This position reports to the Corporate Controller and other senior corporate management from time to time (project based).
Summary of Duties (Duties include, but are not limited to the following):
- Support with the preparation of the monthly consolidation of financial statements
- Assisting with the preparation of various working papers for the quarterly and year-end financial statements and related notes and the Management Discussion and Analysis
- Prepare journal entries and associated working papers
- Ensure compliance in the oversight and continued development of an effective internal controls environment, including the design, documentation and testing of key controls
- Providing regular updates on new financial reporting developments (IFRS) and providing guidance to business segments regarding proper accounting treatment of transactions
- Collaborate with all business segments to assist in compiling audit evidence and preparing schedules for financial and regulatory audits
- Assisting the Tax Manager in the preparation of annual tax compliance information packages
- Maintaining records and communications files for tax returns, tax audits and correspondence with various regulatory authorities
- Support filings and ensure documentation complies with the company’s regulations, professional standards and IFRS reporting requirements
- IFRS Technical skills and experience
- COSO Framework technical skills and experience
- Basic understanding and knowledge of Canadian taxation rules/laws
- Demonstrated computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work both in a team environment and independently to achieve project goals and meet deadlines

- Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma
- Preference for recent CPA professional accounting designation or enrolled and near completion of the CPA Program
- 2-5 years of accounting and financial experience
- Audit/Tax firm experience will be an asset
