Job Description: The Field Technician position is an entry level worker. The field technician will assist in the safe operation of repairs to the water distribution system, and facility equipment. The field technician assists with all maintenance, repairs and construction projects as needed. Reads water meters, operates power equipment to mow district facilities. The field technician will learn by observation and formal training in order to gain new skills. They must possess the ability to carry out written or oral directives or instructions, and have the ability to exercise good judgment when carrying out duties and to maintain good working relationships with the public and fellow employees. They must also have the ability to perform strenuous physical tasks such as bending, lifting, carrying, digging, etc. in all weather conditions. This job position is primarily an outdoor job. It requires weekend and on call work during water emergencies.
The applicant must pass a criminal background check upon employment (including drug screening) and have a good driving record.
