Field Service Manager

WPI Canada is a growing presence in the Canadian natural gas service industry. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Manager to join our Rocky Mountain House branch. This role provides technical leadership, operational support, and mentorship to our field service teams while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical support and leadership to field service mechanics

- Ensure branches have the required training, tools, and resources to perform work effectively

- Verify that all branches and service trucks are properly tooled and equipped

- Communicate and enforce WPI service department expectations

- Lead, mentor, coach, and train service staff to achieve operational goals

- Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs independently

- Support turnaround and commissioning projects by leading field staff and coordinating communication between customers, field teams, and office personnel

- Review and approve timesheets for accuracy and ensure standardized documentation across departments

- Ensure all reporting and documentation is accurate and submitted on time

- Adhere to WPI and customer Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures

- Participate in on-call rotation; overtime, travel, and overnight work may be required

Technical Requirements

- Proficient in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing:

- Natural gas engines

- Reciprocating and screw compressor packages

- Strong knowledge of gas compression equipment including:

- Waukesha, Caterpillar engines

- Ariel compressors

- Screw compression systems

- Experience with OEM software and Windows-based reporting tools

Qualifications

- Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright (preferred)

- Strong computer skills and attention to detail

- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities

- Strong customer service and communication skills (field to office)

- Self-motivated, organized, and flexible with scheduling

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
