Facilities Maintenance Technician - Job Description Announcement (JDA)
We are a rapidly growing, innovative manufacturer on the forefront of precision machining and advanced technologies. As operations expand, we are strengthening our facility support capabilities to maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient working environment. We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician with hands-on skills in building maintenance, repairs, and light construction to support the day-to-day needs of the facility.
The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily facility upkeep, reactive and preventive repairs, light construction, and support of safety and compliance activities. This role includes janitorial upkeep, performing basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC tasks, and supporting continuous improvement and 5S efforts across the shop. The ideal candidate has a background as a handyman or facility maintenance technician with broad practical skills and a proactive, reliable work ethic.
· Perform daily facility upkeep including sweeping, trash removal, restroom cleaning, and general tidiness.
· Handle reactive repairs involving basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC issues.
· Complete preventive maintenance tasks such as building inspections, filter changes, and safety station checks.
· Carry out light construction tasks including shelving, minor framing, floor patching, and installing fixtures.
· Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives including layout adjustments, workplace organization, and building small storage solutions.
· Document all repairs, PM work, and facility checks according to company procedures.
· Coordinate with outside vendors for deep cleaning or specialized facility services as required.
· Assist with compliance activities such as emergency lighting checks, eyewash station inspections, and ISO audit readiness.
· Use only company-supplied tools and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
· Drive company vehicle for outside services/ drop off & pick up of parts.
· Hands-on experience in facility maintenance, handyman work, or a similar role.
· Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems.
· Ability to perform light carpentry and small construction tasks.
· Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and around machines.
· Able to prioritize tasks, work independently, and respond quickly to reactive repair needs.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized facility.
