Equipment Maintenance Helper [Material Recovery Facility Only]

We have the following position at our San Bernardino division:

Material Recovery Facility – Equipment Maintenance Helper

- Will perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- Will follow safe work practices and adhere to all safety rules and practices.

- Will assist and support the Equipment Maintenance team and activities.

- Will perform inspections, cleaning, maintenance and repairs of Material Recovery Facility equipment not limited to balers, conveyors, screens, magnets, etc.

- Will perform repair and maintenance of facility building and grounds

- Will use hand tools and other equipment for the performance of these activities

- Will use welder, torch, and grinder in the performance of their job

- Will work in support of Equipment Maintenance team and independently on smaller jobs/tasks

- Will timely and accurately document work performed on Fleetmate work orders

- Will perform other repairs and duties as assigned by management.

- Have good interpersonal skills

- Have good mechanical and electrical skills

- Have good verbal and written communication skills.

- Have good judgment skills.

- Have good organizational and cleanliness skills to ensure a safe and organized work area.

- Be able to use hand tools, portable power tools, and other equipment as needed.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

- 1 year of previous equipment maintenance and repair experience is required.

- Vocational school and/or training in equipment maintenance and repair desired.

- Previous experience in the use of hand and small power tools/equipment.

PHYSICAL:

- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for long periods of time.

- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Will be exposed to moderate noise and dust levels.

- Will work in outdoor areas and be exposed to weather conditions—heat, cold, rain, and wind.
