The Aero Services Materials Planner is responsible for material planning and inventory metrics for aero parts services. They will monitor the results of changes to the inventory plan/forecast and recommend modifications as well as plan for prevention of excess inventory and "stock outs". They will be diligent in supplier follow up to have the most up-to-date information regarding part availability.
This role reports to the Aero Services Materials Manager and will collaborate to ensure that the stocking levels are optimal for business success. They will work with all levels of personnel in resolving issues, tracking material availability, and advising on material usage. This person will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and may lead small projects. They will work
with customers internally to identify new opportunities to create and improve our standard processes. They will work closely with the sourcing team and participate in supplier meetings. They will work with warehousing and the quality team to resolve discrepancies identified during the receiving process. The role will assist with the implementation of some new ERP capabilities. There will occasionally be after-hours requirements to support emergency priority orders to support critical customer demands.
- Create supply for all demand signals
- Perform purchase order follow up with suppliers to confirm expected dates
- Coordinate expedite efforts for material shortages
- Monitor material ordering data for efficiency
- Key team member in training and implementation of new ERP capability
- May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Resolves issues in situations that require good judgment within established procedures. Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
- Collaborate with teams cross functionally (ie sourcing, quality, warehousing, etc)
- A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. Develops strong supplier relationships and serves as the interface between the supplier and GEV.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college plus a minimum of 5-years relevant experience in Material Planning, Supply Chain, Procurement and /or similar functions
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
- Established project management skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $72,400.00 and $108,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
