The Equipment Maintenance and Service Manager is an exempt position responsible for the efficient, profitable, and safe operation of the maintenance and service department. Develops and coordinates the company-wide maintenance program for heavy equipment.
- Assists in the development and execution of effective service department policies and processes.
- Participates in budget planning and goals for the service department.
- Coordinates, estimates, documents, manages, and often implements repairs to equipment.
- Schedules mechanics and manages vendors for repairs to equipment; Skilled in negotiating final repair invoices with vendors.
- Maintains correct levels of parts inventories and does parts purchasing.
- Coordinates materials, equipment, and purchasing for proper equipment maintenance and tracking to keep jobs on an efficient production pace.
- Requires constant communication between the field, mechanics, vendors, and Project Managers; Resolves issues as needed with a high level of professionalism.
- Ensures all shop and field service work is performed in an efficient manner.
- Responsible for hiring, training and development of service personnel to include performance reviews and corrective action/discipline as necessary.
- Ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are available and maintained in good working order.
- Responsible for the management of the equipment maintenance facility. This includes the orderly appearance of the facility.
- Ability to manage personnel and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy of information; excellent organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills; Experience with MS Excel and MS Word.
- Professional work demeanor; Ability to work within and promote a strong team environment across all divisions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The ideal candidate will have 5 or more years of heavy equipment management experience; heavy equipment mechanic skills a plus.
Work Hours: The normal work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 7:00 – 5:30pm at the CK Contractors and Development, LLC office.
