Entry Level Field Engineer - E.I.T.

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting entry level Field Engineers (E.I.T.) for our Estevan, SK location.

Reporting to the Manager - Field Engineering, the E.I.T. works in unison with Field Operations and is responsible for ensuring effective use and application of the technical activities in the Cementing and Acidizing service lines.

Overseeing the daily technical requirements of the service line and providing guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and technically proficient operations are taking place.

This position is ideally suited to a candidate who is looking to gain operational knowledge, while utilizing their engineering skills and experience to effect change by solving equipment and job execution challenges. This position acts as a key resource to Operations, Engineering, and Client Solutions and will be required to give advice and input accordingly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Ensure policies and procedures are being followed and provide input to policy and process changes. These changes will be determined by observations gained through direct exposure to field operations. Work with station staff to provide training and technical expertise where required

- Have a thorough understanding of the importance of innovative technology, research and then assist with the implementation of this technology through effective design and field testing

- Understand implications of changes to equipment and/or operating procedures

- Act as a direct link to Head Office programming for job design changes

- Utilize engineering principles for problem solving

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering *APEGA Eligible / Registered Preferred

- This role is labour inclusive and supports our operational teams; the successful hire should be comfortable working in a hands-on capacity, previous labour experience is a significant asset

- Applicants with labour experience within oil and gas or agricultural settings will be prioritized

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, all season, and ever-changing environments

- Ability to manage projects effectively, with changing priorities

- Computer literacy, presentation skills and strong communication skills are a must

- Have the ability to deal with problems involving several variables in the majority of situations

- Preference will be given to those with degrees in: Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, and Materials Engineering
