This position works with the S & R Logistics Team to coordinate the pick-up and transport of aggregate materials by individual haulers in the most productive way, and ensures prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers. Dispatchers will assist and manage the day to day functions of our haulers through dispatching, monitoring, tracking, and communicating with our haulers as well as process tickets and perform other clerical duties.
· Enter tickets into the computer on a daily basis
· Verify that ticket numbers, tonnages, etc. are correct
· Assure that each scheduled route is appropriately covered by utilizing available haulers
· Maintain a cordial and professional working relationship with assigned haulers, customers and work associates
· Work as team with other departments at various locations to resolve issues
· Communicate changes or updates in data between various locations
· Answer phone calls and take orders from customers
· Maintain current knowledge of routes and locations to assure timely services and accurate information
· Perform a variety of clerical support duties as assigned; type correspondence, memos and other items; compile data from clearly defined sources and prepare reports; route calls of messages
· Arrive to work on time and stay for your scheduled shift
· High School Education, GED or equivalent experience
· Knowledge of hauler duties and Florida’s roads and streets
· Strong computers skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products *(Excel and Word)
· Ability look up and provide directions when needed
· Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
· Must have excellent interpersonal and customers service skills
· Ability to effectively communicate information to employees and management
· Ability to learn and apply applicable department rules, regulations, policies and procedures
· Ability to adhere to company policies and rules; promotes the Company’s safety standards
· Ability to work independently and to complete required documentation accurately and completely
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job is sedentary for prolonged periods of time.
40 + Hours per week. Occasionally nights and weekends if needed.
This position reports to the Manager of S & R Logistics.
